How to calculate your grade in a class
If your class grades on total points, your grade is simply all the points you've earned divided by all the points possible so far.
grade = ( total points earned ÷ total points possible ) × 100
Example
You've earned 270 points out of 300 possible so far.
= (270 ÷ 300) × 100 = 90% — an A−.
= (270 ÷ 300) × 100 = 90% — an A−.
Points vs. weighted grades
